Actor

Peter Egan

National theatre actor and Downton Abbey star Peter Egan is a greatly admired and invaluable supporter of our campaign. Mr Egan is helping us block plans for B&K Universal's expansion plans to breed Beagles and ferrets for cruel experiments. Mr Egan has advertised our campaign on the ITV website, and has promoted our petition calling for animal experimenters to justify their science claims in properly moderated, public scientific debates with leading medical experts in their field - who work to abandon the use animals in human medical research because of their known scientific failure.

Comedian and actor Ricky Gervais has supported us from day one! He made a huge difference when we were in the early stages of defeating plans against B&K Universal animal breeders; enjoy an early tweet Mr Gervais sent our media reporter at the time.

Caroline Lucas MP

"Animal tests are outdated, cruel and inefficient, yet the number of animals being used in UK research is actually increasing - despite a pledge by the Coalition Government to reduce it. The majority of drugs deemed successful after testing on animals go on to fail in clinical trials, either because they do not produce the same therapeutic effects in people or because they are too toxic to use on human patients".

We are proud that Parliamentary EDM 263 has been signed by 52 MPs from all of the major political parties including Diane Abbot MP, a regular guest on BBC's This Week.
